Slap on the sports authority !!

Hosting the Commonwealth Games next year is a matter of pride not just for Delhi, but for the entire country. But are we prepared to host the Games? Seeing that Commonwealth Games may miss the set deadlines the chief of the Games federation has sought the Prime Minister's intervention to put things in order.With barely a year to go for the event, the chief of the Games federation has written a letter to the Organising Committee of Delhi Games, saying he has asked Indian Olympic Association chief Suresh Kalmadi to arrange in October a meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. A confidential report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) warns that many projects are lagging behind. According to the plan the swimmers should be able to hold a competition at the Talkatora complex in October, but just 20 days before it was initially scheduled to be completed, the SPM aquatics complex near Talkatora is not ready. It is the place where the Commonwealth swimming competition is to be held in 13 months.According to the confidential report prepared by the CAG, which was released in July this year, just 42 per cent of the work had been completed till June. Meanwhile, this past week, a special security briefing was also held in the capital for heads of mission of Commonwealth nations in Delhi. Several concerns have also been expressed about security preparations for the games. The Delhi Police and organisers gave an almost three-hour-long presentation to the envoys. Most of the representatives seemed to be impressed but added that they would have to see the results on the ground.

Boxing - next top game on indian sports list

After the historic win of Vijander in World Boxing Champs, Vijander has shown the youngster a new way of making millions. Olympic bronze medallist Vijender Singh of India sealed a historic first for India at the World Boxing Championships by advancing to the semi-finals of the 75-kg category with a thumping 12-4 win over Derevyanchenko Sergiy of Ukraine. Vijender's win assured the country of at least a bronze medal in the elite event, in which India has never won a medal before. en

We have lot of potential in other sports apart from CRICKET, but nor does our sports authorities want to show some interest nor does they want to spend money in other games in faciliating well doing young chaps. Guys Vijander should be boosted with national awards which will inspire the growing young generation to win Gold medals in these kind of sports.

Was Jet Airways a Shame or Fame??

Hi All,

Recently jet airways took an extreme step to fire 2000 employess due to global crisis then dared of took back them without intervention of govt. Y such a big drama was that a public stunt or their advisory body lacks knowledge of firing employess. Then the new drama of, which caused a massive loss, hell lot of inconvenience to the society and a big shame to the country on the global front.

Could this have been avoided??
